Why Groom Cats
Every cat has a greasy coat. You may not be aware of it if you haven’t given your cat a degreasing bath and blow dry. A cat with a greasy coat, combined with shedding hair, is the reason cats develop knots and, eventually, a clumpy, lumpy, matted coat.Regular grooming (consisting of a bath and blow dry on all cats), will significantly reduce any maintenance you may find yourself needing to do on your cats at home. Certain coat types need more frequent bathing/grooming to be able to prevent the development of knots, mats or hairballs. Regular grooming visits from Pampered Pussycats Mobile service will allow you to enjoy your puss cats', worry free.
Cats mat, and thats a fact.Whether short or long haired, purebred or 'just a moggy', all cats shed, and all cats have oily skinRemember - A Groomed Cat is a Happy Cat
Is your cat clean?
Does this mean freshly washed with shampoo and water?
Or does it mean licked all over and covered in cat spit?
If 'clean' means the former, then obviously someone must wash the cat - with cat safe, degreasing, shampoo, and rinse thoroughly to removed grime, germs, dead skin, litter, etc, and whatever else may collect in a cats coat - including their own grease and shedding hair.
Either a cat will 'wash' itself - or a person must do it for them.
PELTS
Over time, a small tangle can build into a clump, or mat (as shedding hair gets caught in the greasy coat)If not taken care of, a mat can become a PELT!A pelt will pull on the cat's delicate skin, can develop sores and can even threaten their life! The removal of this pelt can be an extremely stressful process for a kitty that is already in pain and distress.Stress can kill a cat - especially if it is old, obese, has health issues, etc.
Please dont try to remove mats with scissors at home as it is very easy to accidentally cut your cats delicate skin.
